Netsurion Connect SD-WAN includes Netsurion CXD, an inexpensive SD-WAN edge router that embeds Wi-Fi, 4G LTE cellular and stateful firewall. The entire solution is remotely deployed and managed from Netsurion’s Connect Orchestrator.
Volta Charging, a customer who is building the largest free car charging network in the U.S., was able to select a best-fit network connectivity and security solution based on Netsurion Connect SD-WAN. The backing of Netsurion remote support gave them the assurance that they could scale to support their growing number of locations and expand functionality with the same solution. Volta has a total of 500 charging stations in the country and over 400 stations are using Netsurion products, with more making the transition. “Security is extremely important to Volta as we grow and add new products,” says Jon Michaels, senior vice president of Volta Charging. “Netsurion Connect allows visibility and understanding into the network while being connected in order to troubleshoot any problems at a low cost.”
According to John Ayers, Netsurion’s vice president of product management, “Netsurion is now able to deliver a tailored solution to meet the requirements of SMB branch offices that need the support of the distributed environment with a centralized management system. It provides a low-cost entry point for MSPs looking to deliver a broader network and security solution set to customers in a simple, compliant solution.”
The new package builds on the company’s existing channel programs. Netsurion Protect has been empowering MSPs with advanced threat protection and compliance based on the EventTracker SIEM (security information and event management) platform since the partner program was announced in the summer of 2017. The offering is aimed at empowering MSPs that may not have the resources to implement and consistently monitor this comprehensive network connectivity solution.

The many benefit of SD-WAN allows organizations with distributed workforce to improve their network efficienty and reliability while lowering the costs. The SD-WAN (software-defined wide area network) is a technology that provides a wide range of operational and financial benefits. This is basically an automated, programmatic approach for managing network connectivity and costs.
The technology extends the software defined networking (SDN) to include the wide area networks and allow businesses to quickly create smart WANs. These hybrid wide area networks comprising of broadband internet, IP VPN and wireless services, enables companies to manage a variety of applications and environments including on-premise and cloud based systems.
Generally, one must define the routing policies. This allows for the automatic and dynamic forwarding of traffic across the most efficient and appropriate WAN path depending on the network conditions, cost of circuit, quality of service requirements, and more.
Benefits of SD-WAN
Generally, the SD-WAN address most of the challenges that organizations face when running the traditional expensive and rigid enterprise networks. The main advantages of software-defined wide-area network include;
- Low capital and operational expenses for the WAN infrastructure as well as overall total cost of ownership.
- Enhancing the security by segmenting the network and encrypting the traffic hence reducing the impact or damage in case of a breach.
- The SD-WAN supports zero-touch provisioning (ZTP). This allows the automatic provisioning and configuring of devices hence eliminating the manual processes of adding them to the network.
- Increases agility, flexibility and responsiveness hence allowing businesses to quickly adapt and keep pace with changes and new technologies in the IT landscape.
- Enabling load sharing across different connections as well as adjusting the traffic via the most efficient path depending the network condition, hence improving the overall performance.
- SD-WAN supports multiple, high performance and secure connections hence preventing the backhaul penalties of the MPLS networks.
- Supporting the automatic provisioning of resources and adopting to changes in network services such as WAN optimization, security, firewalls, VPNs and application delivery.
The speed and reliability of your website or e-commerce site is critical if you want to retain visitors and customers. A sluggish website forces users to look for alternatives, as they do not have all the time to wait for pages to load. Similary, a website that keesp on crashing or is unavailable most of the times is not good for your business.
Seemingly minute differences in performance translate into big losses when you operate 24/7.

There are several data loss risks in cloud storage. This arises due to factors such as security and compliance issues, as well as hacking and malicious deletions.
The global market for cloud storage is expected to grow further in the coming years. One of the driving factors being that the cloud allows customers to cut operational costs while improving reliability without investing heavily on in-house hardware, manpower, and skills. However, as the adoption of cloud storage continues to grow, consumers must be aware of the risks associated with the service. Before we look at the risks, let us first see the benefits of cloud storage.
Advantages of cloud storage
Generally, cloud storage and services provide businesses and other customers with flexibility, convenience, and scalability. The services are accessible from any location and using a wide variety of devices, including mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers.
These devices can be standalone or integrated into local area networks as well as wide area networks where workers in remote locations can access the same service.
This allows the employees to collaborate and share data without being physically in the same place. Additionally, the company does not have to invest heavily and manage an in-house data center and staff. It also frees up the resources and employees’ time.
Data loss risks in cloud storage due to Compliance and security
Unless your cloud provider can confirm the physical location of your data, compliance with a certain country, industry and/or company rules may be near to impossible.
With data and services spread across several networks and locations in different countries, compliance becomes a challenge for cloud computing clients.
The security and compliance for a specific company can only be guaranteed if the cloud storage provider can confirm the physical location where the data is stored.
Top data loss risks in cloud storage for business
Some of the factors that increase data loss risks include but not limited to;
- Users uploading data
- Key Management
- Cloud Credentials
- Data Leakage
- No Control over Data
The typical data loss occurs due to
- User error: where users accidentally or overwrite or delete data
- Hacking: where outsiders get into the business systems;
- Closing accounts: when the subscription expires or cloud provider closes down, some do not care about the stored data
- Malicious delete: where users intentionally delete company data.
- Third Party Software where a third-party tool or application overwrites critical data.
